Last night at 3:30 pm a big fire came over a foresty plantation in Wenita forest. Later in that evening a big smoky haze came over Dunedin. The next day a very strong smoky smell came. The people near the fire got evacuated (I feel sorry for those people.) Lots of people were trying to help put the fire out such as firefighters (of course) and helicopter pilots with monsoon buckets. The helicopters got the water from the Taieri River. The fire started by foresty workers logging equipment. The firefighters and helicopters are still busy looking after the fire.
